From the first competitive tournaments to include Counter-Strike as a main game Sweden has set itself apart from all other gaming nations as the most dominant and with the deepest pool of talent. Despite the strangehold the Swedes have had on the major Counter-Strike tournaments the WCG has been one tournament which has seen CS’ alpha males prove less than dominant over the course of its history. In this piece we’ll look at Sweden’s representation at the WCG and how they fared in comparison to the strength of the Swedish scene at the time.
